DevOps Engineer – Cloud & Infrastructure Automation

Join the Artifact Hosting and Ingestion team as a DevOps Engineer with a strong programming background, where you'll play a key role in building and maintaining critical infrastructure for managing software artifact repositories and custom ingestion pipelines. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in cloud-native environments, has solid coding skills (especially in Python), and is passionate about automation, scalability, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and GitLab CI/CD for scalable and repeatable deployments.
• Build and operate robust, cloud-native solutions using AWS (RDS, S3, EC2).
• Design, implement, and automate ingestion pipelines and system integrations in Python.
• Manage and optimize software artifact repositories (e.g., Sonatype Nexus, JFrog Artifactory).
• Ensure the performance, observability, and reliability of distributed systems running in production.
• Administer and troubleshoot Linux-based environments with complex networking setups.
• Configure and manage key infrastructure components, such as HAProxy, Kong (strongly preferred), and Apache.
• Support Software Bill of Materials (SBOM) initiatives to meet US government compliance requirements.

What We're Looking For:

• Proven experience in a DevOps or Infrastructure Engineering role with a strong automation mindset.
• Solid programming skills in Python, with experience building tools or automating infrastructure tasks.
• Hands-on experience with AWS (EC2, RDS, S3) and cloud-native architectures.
• Expertise in Infrastructure as Code, especially using Terraform.
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines in GitLab or similar tools.
• Knowledge of artifact management solutions like Nexus or Artifactory.
• Deep understanding of networking concepts and experience with HA Proxy, Kong (strongly preferred), and Apache.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in high-availability production environments.
• Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
