Senior Accountant

We are seeking a fully qualified Senior Accountant to join our client’s team remotely from Cyprus. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional with a strong background in financial management and, ideally, exposure to the iGaming industry. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing daily accounting operations, managing an Accountant whilst supporting their clients with banking applications and start-up operations in Cyprus.

Location: Remote – Cyprus

Responsibilities:

As a Senior Accountant, your broad responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct detailed financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting to support business decision-making.
• Manage and mentor one junior accountant, ensuring high-quality work output and adherence to company processes.
• Assist clients in applying for new banking facilities and navigating financial processes.
• Provide expert advice on financial planning and operational strategies, particularly for start-ups in Cyprus.
• Leverage your iGaming industry knowledge to offer tailored financial insights and solutions.
• Ensure compliance with local Cypriot financial regulations, tax laws, and international accounting standards.
• Assist with audits of various clients, ensuring compliance and accuracy in financial reporting.
• Liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies as required.
• Identify opportunities to enhance accounting processes and implement best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business growth and client operations.
  

Requirements:

• Fully qualified accountant (e.g., ACCA, CPA, or equivalent).
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting or financial management.
• Previous exposure to the iGaming sector is highly desirable.
• Proven experience in managing or mentoring a team.
• Strong understanding of banking operations, start-up financial processes, and regulatory requirements in Cyprus.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in accounting software and tools (e.g., ERP systems, Excel).
• Ability to work independently and effectively in a fully remote environment.
