The Role
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Middle School English Teacher to join the team from September 2025. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality English lessons that develop students confidence, communication, and critical thinking. You will play an active role in curriculum planning, assessment, and reporting, while also contributing to the wider life of the school community. Flexibility, creativity, and a strong commitment to international education are essential.

Main Responsibilities

  • Teach English to Middle School students with a focus on both written and spoken language

  • Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging, student-centered lessons aligned with curriculum objectives

  • Meet the schools standards for assessment, evaluation, and progress reporting

  • Use formative assessment to plan future learning and personalise instruction

  • Create a classroom environment that promotes active learning and inclusion

  • Collaborate with the Leadership Team and student support staff to support holistic development

  • Support the development of independent learning and group work

  • Maintain positive classroom behaviour and promote a strong work ethic

  • Engage in continuous professional development, lesson observations, and peer feedback

  • Actively contribute to co-curricular activities, trips, and school events

  • Support wellbeing and safeguarding procedures in coordination with designated staff

  • Communicate effectively with families and colleagues

Candidate Profile

Education & Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Education (or equivalent)

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or international teaching certification

  • Qualified to teach students aged 11 - 14 (middle school level)

  • Native English speaker or C2-level English proficiency

Experience & Skills:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience teaching in a secondary or middle school environment

  • Passion for teaching, with creativity and a strong work ethic

  • Experience with inquiry-based, project-based, or cross-curricular teaching

  • Ability to adapt to a bilingual and multicultural school environment

  • Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills

  • Commitment to inclusive practice, safeguarding, and professional integrity

  • Previous experience in international or independent schools is an asset

  • Coaching or extracurricular involvement is a plus
