About the Role:
- Deliver engaging and inspiring Geography lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, covering a range of physical, human, and environmental geography topics.
- Develop and implement effective lesson plans that incorporate fieldwork, map skills, data analysis, and discussions of contemporary geographical issues, encouraging critical thinking and a sense of global responsibility.
- Assess student progress through fieldwork reports, presentations, and assessments, providing constructive feedback to enhance their geographical understanding.
- Contribute to the development of the geography curriculum within the framework of the school's Catholic ethos and participate in departmental initiatives.
- Potentially organize and lead fieldwork opportunities to relevant locations.
Ideal Candidate:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in Geography.
- A strong understanding of the secondary geography curriculum and effective teaching methodologies, including fieldwork.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate female students in the study of geography.
- Proficiency in using geographical software and resources is desirable.
- A passion for the subject and a commitment to fostering an understanding of the world and its people within a Catholic ethical framework.
