About the Role:

  • Deliver engaging and challenging Economics lessons across Key Stages 4 and 5, following relevant examination specifications.
  • Plan and prepare high-quality lessons that cater to the needs of academically gifted students, incorporating diverse economic perspectives and methodologies.
  • Utilize a range of teaching methods and resources, including economic models, data analysis, debates, and research projects, to enhance student learning.
  • Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and support individual learning journeys, fostering a deep understanding of economic concepts and skills.
  • Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Economics examinations, ensuring they have a strong understanding of assessment criteria and economic scholarship.
  • Contribute to the development of the Economics curriculum and resources, integrating current economic issues and research findings.
  • Foster a love of economics in students, encouraging them to develop their analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, and to appreciate the complexity of the global economy.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment, and to contribute to the wider academic life of the school.
  • Organize and lead economics-related activities, such as debating societies and visits to financial institutions, promoting intellectual engagement and practical application of economic principles.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Economics, including microeconomics, macroeconomics, and econometrics.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach Economics across Key Stages 4 and 5, including A-Level.
  • Experience in preparing students for GCSE and A-Level Economics examinations.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate high-achieving students.
  • A passion for economics and a commitment to fostering economic inquiry and scholarship.
  • Ability to organize and lead economics-related activities.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
