About the Role:

  • Deliver engaging and challenging History lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, following relevant examination specifications.
  • Plan and prepare high-quality lessons that cater to the needs of academically gifted students.
  • Utilize a range of teaching methods and resources, including primary source analysis, debates, and research projects, to enhance student learning.
  • Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and support individual learning journeys.
  • Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level History examinations, ensuring they have a strong understanding of assessment criteria.
  • Contribute to the development of the History curriculum and resources, integrating advanced historical concepts and research findings.
  • Foster a love of history in students, encouraging them to develop their analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Contribute to extracurricular activities and enrichment programs related to history and humanities.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Strong subject knowledge in History, including advanced topics.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, including A-Level.
  • Experience in preparing students for GCSE and A-Level History examinations.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate high-achieving students.
  • A passion for history and a commitment to fostering historical inquiry.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
