Design and Technology Teacher - Full-time, Permanent (April 2025 Start)

About the Role:

  • Deliver engaging and challenging Design and Technology lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, following relevant examination specifications.
  • Plan and prepare high-quality lessons that cater to a variety of design and technological interests and abilities, ensuring all students are challenged and supported.
  • Utilize a range of teaching methods and resources, including practical workshops, CAD/CAM software, and design projects, to enhance student learning.
  • Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and support individual learning journeys.
  • Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Design and Technology examinations, ensuring they have a strong understanding of assessment criteria.
  • Contribute to the development of the DT curriculum and resources, keeping them up-to-date with industry trends.
  • Foster a love of design and technology in students, encouraging them to develop their problem-solving and practical skills.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Contribute to extracurricular activities and enrichment programs related to design and technology.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Design and Technology.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
  • Experience in preparing students for GCSE and A-Level Design and Technology examinations.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and practical skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities.
  • A passion for design and technology and a commitment to fostering innovation.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
