Economics Teacher - Full-time, Permanent (April 2025 Start)

Are you a dedicated and knowledgeable Economics Teacher ready to inspire students in a faith-based secondary school in Hillingdon? We are seeking a passionate educator to join our Humanities department, starting April 2025. This is an opportunity to teach Economics within a supportive and values-driven environment.

About the Role:

  • Deliver engaging and challenging Economics lessons across Key Stages 4 and 5, following relevant examination specifications.
  • Plan and prepare high-quality lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities, ensuring all students are challenged and supported.
  • Utilize a range of teaching methods and resources, including real-world examples, debates, and research projects, to enhance student learning.
  • Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and support individual learning journeys.
  • Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Economics examinations, ensuring they have a strong understanding of assessment criteria.
  • Contribute to the development of the Economics curriculum and resources, integrating ethical and faith-based perspectives where appropriate.
  • Foster a love of economics in students, encouraging them to develop their analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, including extracurricular activities and upholding the school's ethos.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Economics.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach across Key Stages 4 and 5.
  • Experience in preparing students for GCSE and A-Level Economics examinations.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities.
  • A commitment to the values and ethos of faith-based education.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
