An excellent secondary school in Lewisham is seeking a dedicated and experienced SENCO to join their team from April or September 2025. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and knowledgeable leader to oversee the school’s SEND provision, ensuring that every student receives the tailored support they need to achieve their full potential.

Role Highlights:

  • Full-time, permanent position at an excellent secondary school in Lewisham
  • Lead and manage SEND provision across the school, working closely with staff, students, and external agencies
  • Oversee the identification, assessment, and support of students with SEN, ensuring high-quality interventions and personalised learning plans
  • Support and guide teachers and teaching assistants in delivering effective SEN strategies within the classroom
  • Work collaboratively with parents, carers, and external professionals to create a holistic approach to student development
  • Ensure compliance with SEND legislation and maintain up-to-date EHCPs and support plans
  • Contribute to whole-school improvement strategies and inclusion policies

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • National Award for SEN Coordination (or willingness to obtain)
  • Proven experience working with students with SEN in a secondary setting
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills
  • In-depth knowledge of SEND legislation, EHCP processes, and effective intervention strategies
  • A collaborative and proactive approach to supporting students and staff
  • Enhanced DBS check required
