We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Year 1 Teacher for a lovely, inclusive school located in a residential area of Waltham Forest, starting April 2025. This is a full-time position. Year 1 Teacher Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons that are tailored to meet the needs of Year 1 students.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages mutual respect and enthusiasm for learning.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and setting clear development targets.
  • Foster students’ independence and creativity, helping them build essential skills for future learning.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and ensure high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Maintain strong communication with parents and guardians, keeping them informed of their child’s progress and addressing any concerns.
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school activities as required.

Year 1 Teacher Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching in Key Stage 1, especially in Year 1.
  • Strong understanding of the National Curriculum and effective assessment methods.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to differentiate teaching to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
  • A team-oriented approach and a passion for inclusive education.
  • Commitment to professional development and continuous improvement.
