About the Role:

  • Teach Sociology at Key Stage 4, with the possibility of teaching at Key Stage 5 or contributing to PSHE lessons depending on experience and interest.
  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons.
  • Utilize a range of teaching methods and resources, including discussions, debates, case studies, and documentaries.
  • Assess student progress, set targets, and provide constructive feedback.
  • Contribute to the department's curriculum development.
  • Foster a love of Sociology in students.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Holds QTS or equivalent.
  • Possesses excellent subject knowledge in Sociology.
  • Demonstrates a passion for teaching Sociology.
  • Has strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
  • Is confident in building rapport with students and fostering a positive learning environment.
