Are you a passionate and inspiring Teacher of Mathematics with a desire to nurture the next generation of mathematicians, scientists, and engineers? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our high-achieving Mathematics department in a grammar school in Hillingdon.

About the Mathematics Department:

The Mathematics department is a dynamic and collaborative team with a shared passion for fostering a love of mathematics in our students. We offer a rigorous and engaging curriculum that covers a wide range of mathematical topics, from pure mathematics and applied mathematics to further mathematics. We encourage students to develop their problem-solving skills, critical thinking abilities, and mathematical fluency through a variety of teaching methods and resources, including interactive activities, technology, and real-world applications.

About the Role:

  • Teach Mathematics and/or Further Mathematics at GCSE and A Level, inspiring and challenging students to deepen their understanding of mathematical concepts and applications.
  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities.
  • Support students in preparing for their GCSE and A Level Mathematics examinations, ensuring they have the knowledge and skills to succeed.
  • Guide students in conducting independent research and completing challenging coursework, fostering their critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Contribute to the department's curriculum development and resource creation, ensuring that our Mathematics curriculum remains relevant, engaging, and rigorous.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the school to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice and keep abreast of the latest developments in Mathematics education.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Holds QTS or equivalent.
  • Possesses excellent subject knowledge in Mathematics.
  • Demonstrates a passion for teaching Mathematics and a commitment to student success.
  • Has strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
  • Is confident in building rapport with students and fostering a positive and stimulating learning environment.
  • Has a good understanding of the GCSE and A Level Mathematics and Further Mathematics specifications and assessment requirements.
  • Is committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
