We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic English Teacher to join an Outstanding Ofsted-rated mixed gender secondary school in Brent. This part-time position, with an April start, offers a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a high-achieving and supportive learning environment.
About the Role:
As an English Teacher, you will play a crucial role in delivering engaging and challenging English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will foster a love for literature and language, encouraging students to develop their critical thinking, analytical, and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality English lessons that are tailored to the needs of individual students, ensuring all students are engaged and challenged.
- Create a stimulating and interactive learning environment that promotes active participation, collaboration, and a love of learning.
- Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies that cater to diverse learning styles and enhance student understanding and engagement.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and targeted support to ensure all students are progressing towards their academic goals.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and refine the English curriculum, ensuring it aligns with the school's high standards and current educational best practices.
- Contribute to the school's extracurricular English activities, such as book clubs, debating societies, and creative writing workshops.
Ideal Candidate:
- A passion for English literature and language, with a strong understanding of literary analysis and creative writing.
- A relevant teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent) and a strong academic background in English literature or a related field.
- Proven experience teaching English at secondary level, ideally within an Outstanding Ofsted-rated school, with a proven track record of achieving excellent student outcomes.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- A commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and supported.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students to develop their critical thinking, analytical, and communication skills.
