We are seeking a dynamic and inspiring English Teacher to join a prestigious all-boys independent school in Camden. This full-time, permanent position, with an ASAP start, offers an exceptional opportunity to cultivate a love for literature and language in bright and motivated young men.
About the Role:
As an English Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering a stimulating and comprehensive English curriculum across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will foster a love for literary exploration, encourage students to develop their analytical and communication skills, and nurture their ability to express themselves with clarity and confidence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver engaging and challenging English lessons that cover a wide range of literary genres and themes.
- Create a dynamic and interactive learning environment that promotes critical thinking, discussion, and debate.
- Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies that cater to diverse learning styles and enhance student engagement.
- Assess and monitor student progress through various assessment methods, providing constructive feedback and targeted support.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and refine the English curriculum, ensuring it remains relevant and inspiring.
- Organise and participate in extracurricular activities, such as debating societies, creative writing clubs, and theatre visits.
- Contribute to the school's vibrant literary culture by participating in school events and initiatives.
Ideal Candidate:
- A genuine passion for English literature and language, with a deep understanding of literary analysis and creative writing.
- A relevant teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent) and a strong academic background in English literature or a related field.
- Proven experience teaching English at secondary level, ideally within an independent school setting.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students and colleagues.
- A commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages boys to excel academically and personally.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students to develop their critical thinking, analytical, and communication skills.
