English Teacher Opportunity in Barnet

We are seeking a highly motivated and creative English Teacher to join an Outstanding Ofsted-rated mixed gender secondary school in Barnet. This full-time, permanent position, with an ASAP start, offers a chance to make a significant impact on students' literacy and communication skills.

About the Role:

As an English Teacher, you will be pivotal in delivering a dynamic and engaging English curriculum across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will inspire students to develop a love for literature and language, encouraging them to become confident and articulate communicators.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver engaging English lessons that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
• Foster a stimulating learning environment that encourages critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration.
• Implement innovative teaching strategies to enhance student understanding and engagement with literary texts and language concepts.
• Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and targeted support to ensure academic success.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop and refine the English curriculum, ensuring it remains relevant and challenging.
• Organise and participate in extracurricular activities, such as debating clubs, poetry slams, and theatre workshops.
• Contribute to the school's commitment to promoting literacy and a love of reading throughout the school community.

Ideal Candidate:

• A passion for English literature and language, with a strong understanding of literary analysis and creative writing.
• A relevant teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent) and a strong academic background in English.
• Proven experience teaching English at secondary level, ideally within an Outstanding Ofsted-rated school.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
• A commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential in English.
