Your Role and Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, play-based lessons tailored to meet the needs of Year 1 pupils.
• Implement effective phonics instruction, supporting early reading and writing development.
• Differentiate lessons to support learners of all abilities, including EAL and SEN children.
• Create a positive and structured classroom environment where children feel safe and encouraged to explore.
• Work closely with Teaching Assistants, SENDCo, and subject leads to enhance learning.
• Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and provide feedback to parents.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• QTS and experience in KS1 teaching, ideally in Year 1.
• Strong understanding of phonics schemes such as Letters and Sounds or Jolly Phonics.
• A commitment to child-centred, creative teaching approaches.
• Excellent classroom management skills and a nurturing teaching style.
