Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and dynamic computing lessons to students at KS3, KS4, and KS5.
  • Develop and implement a curriculum that covers essential computing skills, from programming to digital literacy and beyond.
  • Assess and evaluate student progress through a range of formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Foster an inclusive learning environment where students are encouraged to develop their skills and creativity.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in computing and incorporate new technologies into the classroom to engage students and enhance learning.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the department to share best practices, contribute to curriculum development, and engage in professional development opportunities.
  • Maintain strong communication with parents and guardians, keeping them informed of student progress and achievements.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
  • A teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
  • Proven experience teaching computing at KS3, KS4, and KS5 levels.
  • In-depth knowledge of programming, digital literacy, and computing theory, with the ability to teach a variety of computing topics.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
  • Experience with teaching programming languages such as Python, Java, or similar is highly desirable.
