Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and thought-provoking psychology lessons to students at KS4 and KS5.
  • Develop and implement a curriculum that encourages students to apply psychological concepts to real-world situations.
  • Assess and evaluate student progress through both formative and summative assessments, providing feedback that supports student growth.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes independent thought, curiosity, and respect for diverse perspectives.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices, improve teaching strategies, and contribute to the development of the department.
  • Maintain open communication with parents and guardians, keeping them informed about student progress and achievements.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A degree in Psychology or a related field.
  • A teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
  • Proven experience teaching psychology at KS4 and KS5 level.
  • In-depth knowledge of psychology theory, research, and practice, with the ability to make these concepts accessible to students.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire students and promote engagement in psychological topics.
  • Experience in teaching A-Level Psychology or vocational psychology qualifications is an advantage.
