Are you a passionate and inspiring Teacher of Physics with a desire to ignite a love of science in young minds? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our high-achieving Science department in a Church of England secondary school in Ealing.

About the Science Department:

The Science department is a collaborative and dynamic team with a shared passion for fostering students' love of science and exploration of the natural world. We offer a stimulating and engaging curriculum that covers a wide range of scientific disciplines, including Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. We have well-equipped laboratories and access to a variety of resources to support students' learning and investigations.

About the Role:

  • Teach Physics across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of teaching at Key Stage 5 depending on experience and interest.
  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities.
  • Use a range of teaching methods and resources, including experiments, demonstrations, fieldwork, and technology, to bring Physics to life for students.
  • Assess student progress, set targets, and provide constructive feedback to support individual learning journeys.
  • Contribute to the department's curriculum development and resource creation, ensuring that our Physics curriculum remains relevant and challenging.
  • Foster a love of Physics in students, encouraging them to explore the wonders of the physical world and develop their scientific understanding.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the school to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice and keep abreast of the latest developments in Physics education.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Holds QTS or equivalent.
  • Possesses excellent subject knowledge in Physics.
  • Demonstrates a passion for teaching Physics and a commitment to student success.
  • Has strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
  • Is confident in building rapport with students and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Has a good understanding of the National Curriculum for Physics and relevant examination specifications.
  • Is committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
  • Is supportive of the school's Christian ethos and values.
