Are you a passionate and inspiring Teacher of Drama with a desire to ignite a love of theatre and performance in young people? We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join our thriving Drama department in a Catholic secondary school in Westminster.

About the Drama Department:

The Drama department is a collaborative and passionate team committed to providing a high-quality drama education that fosters creativity, teamwork, and self-expression. We have a well-equipped drama studio and performance space, and we encourage students to explore a variety of dramatic styles and techniques.

About the Role:

  • Teach Drama across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of teaching at Key Stage 5 depending on experience and interest.
  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities.
  • Use a range of teaching methods and resources, including improvisation, devising, script work, physical theatre, and voice work, to develop students' performance skills and confidence.
  • Direct and produce school productions, providing students with opportunities to showcase their talents and work collaboratively.
  • Assess student progress, set targets, and provide constructive feedback to support individual learning journeys.
  • Contribute to the department's curriculum development and resource creation.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to create a positive and stimulating learning environment.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Holds QTS or equivalent.
  • Possesses excellent subject knowledge in Drama.
  • Demonstrates a passion for teaching and a commitment to student success.
  • Has strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
  • Is confident in building rapport with students and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Is supportive of the school's Catholic ethos and values.
