About the MFL Department:

We encourage students to develop their fluency and confidence in French through interactive activities, authentic materials, and opportunities to use the language in real-life contexts.

About the Role:

• Teach French at A Level, inspiring and challenging students to deepen their understanding of the language and culture.
• Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities.
• Support students in preparing for their A Level French examinations, ensuring they have the knowledge and skills to succeed.
• Guide students in conducting independent research and completing challenging coursework, fostering their critical thinking and analytical skills.
• Contribute to the department's curriculum development and resource creation, ensuring that our French curriculum remains relevant, engaging, and rigorous.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the college to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice and keep abreast of the latest developments in MFL education.

Ideal Candidate:

• Holds QTS or equivalent.
• Possesses excellent subject knowledge in French language and culture.
• Demonstrates a passion for teaching Modern Foreign Languages and a commitment to student success.
• Has strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
• Is confident in building rapport with students and fostering a positive and stimulating learning environment.
• Has a good understanding of the A Level French specifications and assessment requirements.
• Is committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
