Teacher of Physics - High-Performing Grammar School in West London

Are you a passionate and inspiring Physics Teacher with a desire to ignite a love of science in young minds? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher of Physics to join our high-achieving department in a prestigious grammar school in West London. This is a full-time, permanent position commencing in April 2025.

We offer a rigorous and engaging curriculum that covers a wide range of topics, from classical mechanics to quantum physics. We encourage students to develop their practical skills through experiments and investigations, and we provide access to state-of-the-art laboratories and equipment.

About the Role:

  • Teach Physics across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of teaching A Level Physics depending on experience and interest.
  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities.
  • Use a range of teaching methods and resources, including demonstrations, experiments, and ICT, to bring Physics to life for students.
  • Assess student progress, set targets, and provide constructive feedback to support individual learning journeys.
  • Contribute to the department's curriculum development and resource creation, ensuring that our Physics curriculum remains relevant and challenging.
  • Foster a love of Physics in students, encouraging them to explore the wonders of the universe and develop their scientific understanding.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the school to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice and keep abreast of the latest developments in Physics education.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Holds QTS or equivalent.
  • Possesses excellent subject knowledge in Physics.
  • Demonstrates a passion for teaching Physics and a commitment to student success.
  • Has strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
  • Is confident in building rapport with students and fostering a positive and stimulating learning environment.
  • Has a good understanding of the National Curriculum for Physics.
  • Is committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
