Are you a passionate and inspiring Music Teacher with a desire to share your love of music with young people? We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher of Music to join our thriving department in a vibrant and diverse secondary school in West London. This is a full-time, permanent position commencing in September 2025, and we welcome applications from both experienced Music Teachers and ECTs.

About the Music Department:
The Music department is a dynamic and collaborative team with a shared commitment to fostering students' musicality and creativity. We offer a rich and engaging curriculum that covers a wide range of musical styles and traditions, from classical to contemporary. We encourage students to develop their musical skills through instrumental lessons, ensemble rehearsals, and performances.
About the Role:
- Teach Music across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of teaching A Level Music depending on experience and interest.
- Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities.
- Use a range of teaching methods and resources, including practical activities, listening exercises, and composition workshops, to bring Music to life for students.
- Lead and direct school ensembles, such as choirs, bands, and orchestras.
- Organize and participate in school concerts and performances, providing students with opportunities to showcase their musical talents.
- Assess student progress, set targets, and provide constructive feedback to support individual learning journeys.
- Contribute to the department's curriculum development and resource creation, ensuring that our Music curriculum remains relevant and inspiring.
- Foster a love of Music in students, encouraging them to explore different musical genres and develop their own musical voice.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the school to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice and keep abreast of the latest developments in Music education.
Ideal Candidate:
- Holds QTS or equivalent.
- Possesses excellent subject knowledge in Music.
- Demonstrates a passion for teaching Music and a commitment to student success.
- Has strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
- Is confident in building rapport with students and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Has a good understanding of the National Curriculum for Music.
- Is committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
