Teacher of Spanish - Inclusive & Supportive Secondary School in West London (ECTs Welcome)

Are you a passionate Teacher of Modern Foreign Languages with a specialism in Spanish and a desire to inspire students to become confident communicators in another language? We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated MFL Teacher to join our supportive and inclusive department in a diverse secondary school in West London. This is a full-time, permanent position commencing in September 2025, and we welcome applications from both experienced MFL Teachers and ECTs.

About the MFL Department:

The Modern Foreign Languages department is a collaborative and supportive team with a shared passion for language learning. We believe that learning Spanish opens doors to new cultures and experiences, and we strive to create a fun and engaging learning environment where students develop their confidence and fluency in the language. We offer a variety of extracurricular activities, including language clubs, exchange trips, and cultural events.

About the Role:

  • Teach Spanish across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of teaching at Key Stage 5 depending on experience and interest.
  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities.
  • Use a range of interactive and communicative teaching methods to develop students' Spanish language skills.
  • Assess student progress, set targets, and provide constructive feedback to support individual learning journeys.
  • Contribute to the department's curriculum development and resource creation, ensuring that our Spanish curriculum remains relevant and engaging.
  • Foster a love of Spanish language and culture in students, encouraging them to explore the Hispanic world and develop their intercultural understanding.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the school to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice and keep abreast of the latest developments in MFL education.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Holds QTS or equivalent.
  • Possesses excellent subject knowledge in Spanish.
  • Demonstrates a passion for teaching Modern Foreign Languages and a commitment to student success.
  • Has strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
  • Is confident in building rapport with students and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Has a good understanding of the National Curriculum for MFL.
  • Is committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
