Teacher of Biology - Dynamic & Innovative Secondary School in West London (ECTs Welcome)

Are you a passionate Science Teacher with a specialism in Biology and a desire to inspire the next generation of scientists? We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher of Science to join our high-achieving department in a dynamic and innovative secondary school in West London. This is a full-time, permanent position commencing in September 2025, and we welcome applications from both experienced Science Teachers and ECTs.

About the Science Department:

The Science department is a collaborative and supportive team with a shared passion for igniting a love of science in our students. We foster a culture of inquiry and encourage students to develop their critical thinking and problem-solving skills through hands-on experiments and investigations. We have a strong track record of success in science examinations, and our students regularly participate in science competitions and events.

About the Role:

  • Teach Science across Key Stages 3 and 4, with a focus on Biology at Key Stage 4 and A Level.
  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities, with a particular emphasis on practical work in Biology.
  • Assess student progress, set targets, and provide constructive feedback to support individual learning journeys in Science.
  • Contribute to the department's curriculum development and resource creation, ensuring that our Science curriculum remains relevant, challenging, and inspiring.
  • Share your passion for Biology with students, encouraging them to explore the natural world and develop their scientific understanding.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the school to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice and keep abreast of the latest developments in Science education.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Holds QTS or equivalent.
  • Possesses excellent subject knowledge in Science, with a specialism in Biology.
  • Demonstrates a passion for teaching Science and a commitment to student success.
  • Has strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
  • Is confident in building rapport with students and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Has a good understanding of the National Curriculum for Science.
  • Is committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
