Teacher of English - Outstanding Sixth Form College in West London (ECTs Welcome)

Are you an inspiring Teacher of English with a passion for literature and language? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic English Teacher to join our exceptional Sixth Form College in West London. This is a full-time, permanent position commencing in September 2025, and we welcome applications from experienced English Teachers as well as ECTs.

About the English Department:

The English department is a dynamic and supportive team with a shared commitment to fostering a love of English in our students. We encourage students to engage critically with texts, develop their analytical and communication skills, and express their creativity through writing and discussion. We offer a stimulating and enriching learning environment with access to a wide range of resources, including a well-stocked library and online learning platforms.

About the Role:

  • Teach English Language and/or English Literature at A Level.
  • Plan and deliver engaging and challenging lessons that cater to a range of learning styles and abilities.
  • Support students in preparing for their A Level English examinations.
  • Provide guidance and feedback on students' written work and coursework.
  • Foster a love of English and inspire students to pursue their interests in literature and language.
  • Contribute to the department's curriculum development and resource creation.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the college.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Holds QTS or equivalent.
  • Possesses excellent subject knowledge in English Language and/or English Literature.
  • Demonstrates a passion for teaching English and a commitment to student success.
  • Has strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
  • Is confident in building rapport with students and fostering a positive and stimulating learning environment.
  • Has a good understanding of the A Level English specifications.
  • Is committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
