We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our high-achieving Chemistry department in a prestigious independent sixth form college in Kensington. This is a full-time, permanent position commencing in April 2025.

About the Chemistry Department:

About the Role:

  • Teach Chemistry at A Level, inspiring and challenging students to deepen their understanding of chemical principles and applications.
  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities.
  • Support students in preparing for their A Level Chemistry examinations, ensuring they have the knowledge and skills to succeed.
  • Guide students in conducting independent research and completing challenging coursework, fostering their critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Contribute to the department's curriculum development and resource creation, ensuring that our Chemistry curriculum remains relevant, engaging, and rigorous.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the college to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice and keep abreast of the latest developments in Chemistry education.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Holds QTS or equivalent.
  • Possesses excellent subject knowledge in Chemistry.
  • Demonstrates a passion for teaching Chemistry and a commitment to student success.
  • Has strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
  • Is confident in building rapport with students and fostering a positive and stimulating learning environment.
  • Has a good understanding of the A Level Chemistry specifications and assessment requirements.
  • Is committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
