Kitchen Assistant - Chinese Cuisine

Our client, a well-established Chinese restaurant located in St Paul’s Bay, Malta, is seeking a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Assistant – Chinese Cuisine to support its kitchen operations. The successful candidate will assist the chefs in food preparation, maintain cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen, and contribute to the smooth running of daily service in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Assist chefs with basic food preparation tasks, including washing, cutting, and preparing ingredients. Support the preparation of Chinese dishes following kitchen instructions. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen workstations and equipment. Wash utensils, dishes, and kitchen equipment as required. Ensure proper storage and handling of food items in line with hygiene standards. Assist with stock rotation and basic inventory tasks. Follow all food safety and hygiene procedures (HACCP). Support the kitchen team during busy service periods. Requirements Previous experience in a kitchen environment will be considered an asset. Basic understanding of food hygiene and safety practices. Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team. Good level of reliability and attention to detail.
