Civil Coordinator - Power Generation Construction

Job Summary The Civil Coordinator provides on-site construction coordination and oversight support for a utility-scale 250 MW / 1,000 MWh Lithium-Ion Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Gainesville, GA. This is a field-based role requiring significant time spent outdoors monitoring and coordinating active civil construction operations on a greenfield site. The position works closely with the EPC contractor, site management, subcontractors, and the owner's project team to ensure safe, on-schedule, and contract-compliant execution of all civil construction activities. Key Responsibilities Provide day-to-day oversight of civil construction activities including site clearing, grubbing, BMP installation and maintenance, mass grading, drainage pond construction, site road installation, site stabilization, and concrete foundation installation. Monitor EPC contractor and subcontractor performance for adherence to contract terms, project drawings, technical specifications, and quality plans. Attend daily Plan of the Day (POD) meetings and Job Safety Briefings (JSBs) to assess critical activities and understand hazard mitigation strategies. Provide real-time feedback to the Project Manager on construction progress, developing issues, and invoice accuracy. Document daily construction activities, contractor interactions, and landowner/neighbor interactions through daily logs in project management software. Oversee Quality Assurance activities including verification that Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) are followed, testing is performed, and witness/hold points are observed. Support contract administration including field coordination of activities and management of project documentation such as drawings, specifications, general conditions, and special conditions. Coordinate receipt and delivery of materials and equipment as directed by the project representative. Actively participate in and promote site safety culture; exercise Stop Work Authority when hazardous conditions are identified. Support permitted work activities (LOTO, Confined Space Entry) as the owner's representative when required. Attend and actively participate in all required project and safety meetings. Interpret technical specifications, sealed engineer-of-record drawings, and submittals to ensure construction compliance. Operate independently with minimal supervision and respond to site conditions on behalf of the project team in a timely manner. Required Certifications and Compliance Level 1A Certification (Blue Card) through the Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission, or ability to obtain prior to project start. OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification. Desired Qualifications Experience on utility-scale energy projects (BESS, solar, substation, or transmission). Familiarity with EPC contractor environments and quality control documentation. Experience using Unifier or similar project management systems. First Aid / CPR / AED certification. Required Qualifications and Skills Minimum 5 years of civil construction field experience including mass grading, erosion control/BMP management, site clearing, road installation, and/or concrete foundations. Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions around active industrial and construction operations. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation and quality compliance. Ability to read and interpret engineer-of-record sealed drawings and technical specifications. Effective communication skills for coordinating with EPC contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and site management. Proactive, dependable, and safety-focused work approach. Schedule Monday through Friday, starting at 7:00 AM. Overtime, nights, and weekends may be required based on project schedule demand.
