Position: Commercial Manager Department: Client and Commercial Services Reports To: VP – Client and Commercial Services Location: Head Office (BGC) and Project Sites as required Role Overview The Commercial Manager leads the day-to-day commercial activities for projects, ensuring accurate cost planning, quantity surveying, and bid management across MEPF, CSA, and auxiliary systems. This role focuses on maintaining cost efficiency, supporting competitive proposals, and ensuring commercial compliance on all projects. The Commercial Manager works closely with project teams to monitor budgets, contracts, and risk, translating technical and financial data into actionable insights. Key Responsibilities: 1. Commercial Management & Execution Support project teams with quantity surveying, cost estimation, and bill of materials for MEPF and auxiliary systems. Maintain and update cost databases and references to ensure accurate budgeting and forecasting. Monitor project budgets, forecasts, and financial reports, highlighting risks and opportunities for cost control. 2. Bid & Proposal Management Prepare, review, and submit bids and tenders, ensuring accuracy, competitiveness, and compliance with client requirements. Evaluate contract terms, risks, and commercial conditions for each proposal. Assist in bid clarifications, technical reviews, and negotiations with internal teams and clients. 3. Contract Administration & Compliance Review contracts and provide commercial guidance to project teams. Ensure proper documentation and compliance throughout the project lifecycle. Support resolution of commercial issues in collaboration with project managers and legal teams. 4. Continuous Improvement & Reporting Assist in standardizing commercial processes, templates, and reporting tools. Generate commercial reports to support pricing strategies, margin tracking, and decision-making. Promote awareness of cost efficiency and commercial practices among project staff. Requirements (suggested for managerial level) Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or Quantity Surveying. 5+ years' experience in commercial management, cost control, or quantity surveying for construction projects. Strong knowledge of contract terms, cost estimation, and bid management. Excellent communication, coordination, and analytical skills.
