Staff Accountant I

ROLE OVERVIEW: A leading global organization is seeking a Staff Accountant I for a 6-month contract opportunity. This role is ideal for local, junior-level candidates with strong Excel skills and attention to detail. This position will be onsite initially for training, with the opportunity to transition to a hybrid schedule (approximately 6 days per month onsite) once fully trained. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Process billing, disbursements, and payment applications Maintain accuracy and attention to detail in all financial transactions Research and resolve discrepancies, including check-related issues Respond professionally to internal and external communications Manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively Prepare and analyze accounting reports, including variances and billing statements Support administrative accounting functions and maintain client or account records Assist in improving and documenting accounting processes and procedures Ensure compliance with corporate policies, SOX requirements, GAAP standards, and other regulatory guidelines SYSTEMS & TOOLS: Microsoft Excel Access Database Processing systems Workflow systems WHAT YOU BRING: Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 1 to 3 years of relevant accounting or finance experience Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to manage multiple systems and tasks simultaneously Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to work effectively in a team environment WHAT TO EXPECT: Opportunity to provide accounting support in a collaborative environment Exposure to core accounting processes and systems Ability to contribute as a key member of the team PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Prior experience in finance or accounting roles Strong organizational and teamwork skills Nova Talent Solutions partners with clients who are committed to equal employment opportunity.
