Kubernetes Engineer — New York City, NY (Onsite) Role Overview Deep infrastructure engineering role focused on building production-grade software that programmatically interacts with Kubernetes. This is not an operations role. The position requires hands-on software development, deep system-level debugging, and full ownership of Kubernetes environments. Job Description Write production-grade software that programmatically interacts with Kubernetes systems Own and manage Kubernetes cluster upgrades end-to-end Perform deep debugging at the node level including shell access to virtual machines and log analysis Investigate and resolve issues by reading open-source Kubernetes and dependency codebases Collaborate on all systems that interact with customer Kubernetes environments Provide technical feedback and contribute to infrastructure product decisions Work in short development cycles with full ownership of implementation and delivery Engage directly with users and support real-world infrastructure use cases Requirements 5+ years of experience working with Kubernetes and production-grade software systems Proven experience managing Kubernetes cluster upgrades Ability to debug at the node level including shell access and log analysis Experience reading and understanding open-source repositories Strong ownership mindset with experience managing systems end-to-end Genuine interest and passion for Kubernetes and infrastructure Green Flags Experience building Kubernetes controllers or contributing to open-source Kubernetes projects Demonstrated ability to debug complex system-level issues Background combining software engineering with infrastructure ownership Strong curiosity and willingness to go deep into system internals Experience in developer tooling or infrastructure-focused environments Red Flags Primarily operational Kubernetes experience without software development Lack of node-level debugging experience Limited exposure to production system ownership No demonstrated passion for Kubernetes or infrastructure engineering Submittal Requirements Submittals must be under 2000 characters Resume must be in PDF format Current location LinkedIn URL Work authorization status
