Procurement Engineer – Nuclear Fleet (Entry) Location: Jupiter, FL (Onsite – Jupiter West Corporate Office) and possibility for Hybrid Duration: 12 Months Schedule: Monday–Friday (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM) Experience Level: 0–5 Years Industry: Nuclear Energy / Power Generation Overview Our client, a leading energy provider serving millions across the U.S., is seeking a Procurement Engineer to support their nuclear fleet within the Procurement Engineering Department. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that all parts and components used across nuclear facilities meet strict design, licensing, and technical specifications. This is an excellent opportunity for early-career engineers to gain hands-on experience supporting nuclear operations, collaborating across engineering, maintenance, and licensing teams, and working with critical plant systems. Position Summary The Procurement Engineer (PE) is responsible for evaluating and qualifying parts used in nuclear power plants to ensure compliance with plant design and regulatory requirements. This includes developing procurement specifications, resolving obsolescence challenges, and supporting component evaluations throughout the lifecycle. Opportunities are available for both Electrical and Mechanical engineering focus areas, with strong cross-training potential. Key Responsibilities Perform engineering evaluations to define procurement requirements, including: Testing criteria Certification requirements Technical specifications Conduct Item Equivalency Evaluations (IEEs) to address obsolete or unavailable components Investigate and resolve issues with parts upon receipt ( OSDDs – Off-Spec/Defective/Discrepant items ) Support engineering analysis and evaluation of plant components and systems Develop and execute test plans to validate engineering solutions Review vendor deliverables and provide acceptance oversight Serve as a technical liaison across: Engineering Operations Maintenance Licensing teams Participate in and lead technical discussions, training sessions, and problem-solving meetings Ensure compliance with nuclear industry standards and regulatory requirements Support refueling outages, emergent plant needs, and procurement engineering initiatives Engineering Focus Areas Electrical Engineering Motors, relays, transformers, circuit breakers Switchgear and electrical distribution systems Digital control systems and boards Mechanical Engineering Valves, pumps, pipes, and materials Chemicals and mechanical components ASME-related systems and standards Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related discipline) 0–5 years of engineering experience Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals and problem-solving techniques Preferred Qualifications Nuclear industry experience or exposure Hands-on/test engineering experience with equipment Experience with NAMS Asset Suite or similar systems Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook) Exposure to AI tools (e.g., CoPilot, ChatGPT) for engineering productivity Nice-to-Have (Discipline-Specific): Electrical: Digital systems, cybersecurity (CDA) Mechanical: ASME codes, chemical/material engineering Special Requirements Understanding of engineering principles applied to nuclear plant systems, structures, and components Ability to work in a highly regulated, safety-critical environment Additional Details On-site role in Jupiter, FL Strong cross-functional collaboration across nuclear fleet teams Opportunities for training and career growth within nuclear engineering
