Aktor Group of Companies is a leading player in Greece's infrastructure sector, delivering high-end services across Construction, Real Estate, Renewables, Facility Management, and Equity Participations. With 6,100 employees, we build the infrastructure that empowers people and communities to thrive. Aktor AI ( aktor.ai ) is our technology arm, building the next generation of enterprise AI. We deploy fully-managed AI employees that self-train on organisational processes and reach 95%+ accuracy within days. Our agents handle finance operations, contract management, support workflows, and more, with built-in supervision that audits decisions, escalates uncertainty, and learns continuously. We don't sell software licences. We deliver outcomes. We are hiring a (Senior) AI Solutions Engineer to work directly with our customers and engineering team, translating business problems into production AI systems. The Role This is a customer-facing engineering role at the frontier of AI-augmented software development. You'll sit at the intersection of technology and business, understanding what customers need, designing the right solution, and ensuring it gets built and shipped to the standard they expect. The way software gets built is changing rapidly. Our engineers work heavily with AI coding assistants and autonomous agent tooling. The craft has shifted: what matters most is knowing what good looks like . Making the right architectural calls, understanding the business context, and steering technical execution toward outcomes that actually work. You will spend more time in discovery, design, and decision-making than in writing code line by line. This doesn't mean the technical bar is lower; it's higher. You need the engineering depth to evaluate solutions, challenge designs (whether from a colleague or an AI), and know when something will hold up in production and when it won't. But you also need the business sense to know what's worth building and the communication skills to align everyone around it. What You'll Do Engage with customers directly: run discovery sessions, understand workflows, identify where AI adds real value, and define acceptance criteria together. Design solutions end-to-end: translate business requirements into technical architectures, balancing reliability, cost, and time-to-value. Build and ship AI agents: prototype, iterate, and deliver production-grade agents. From retrieval pipelines and integrations to evaluation and monitoring. Own the outcome: you're accountable not just for the code, but for whether the solution actually works for the customer. You follow through from kickoff to production and beyond. Bridge technical and business: explain trade-offs plainly, set realistic expectations, and turn vague requests into crisp engineering plans. Elevate quality standards: review AI-generated designs and code with a critical eye. Ensure what ships is well-architected, observable, and maintainable. What We're Looking For Judgment, Business Sense, and Technical Depth We care far less about which specific tools you've used and far more about how you think. Can you walk into a room, understand the problem, and figure out the right thing to build? Can you tell the difference between a sound architecture and one that will collapse under real-world conditions? Strong software engineering fundamentals. You understand how systems are designed, built, and operated. You know what makes something maintainable, and what makes it fragile. Experience with LLM-based systems in production or near-production settings (agents, RAG, automation, orchestration). Product and business thinking. You don't just build what's specified; you think about whether it's the right thing to build. You understand ROI, trade-offs, and what done means for a customer. Architectural taste. You can evaluate a system design, whether it came from a teammate or an AI, and identify what's solid, what's over-engineered, and what's going to break. Customer empathy and communication. You can run a meeting, extract requirements from non-technical stakeholders, and explain complex trade-offs without jargon. Levels Engineer (typically 2–5 years total; 1+ with AI systems) Ships features and integrations independently. Participates in customer engagements and contributes to solution design. Implements evaluation datasets, prompt engineering, and observability. Senior Engineer (typically 6–10+ years; 2+ leading AI deliveries) Leads customer engagements end-to-end: discovery, design, delivery, and handoff. Makes architecture choices and sets quality bars. Mentors teammates and represents Aktor AI to external stakeholders. Nice to Have: Experience with agent orchestration frameworks, vector/graph databases, Postgres/Redis, tracing/observability platforms, Azure, or ERP/line-of-business integrations. Familiarity with construction, infrastructure, or facility management domains is a plus. Specific tools are flexible; equivalent experience is welcome. Professional Qualities Ownership from end to end. You don't hand off problems; you follow them through to resolution! If something isn't working for the customer, it's your problem until it is. Pragmatic and quality-conscious. You find the simplest approach that solves the problem well. You resist unnecessary complexity, but you also don't cut corners when doing it right costs only marginally more effort. Trusted advisor. Customers see you as someone who understands their world and gives them straight answers. You build credibility through competence and follow-through. Clear and structured communicator. You write crisp documents, run effective meetings, and make sure nothing falls through the cracks. Dedicated and driven. You care about the outcome, not just the process. You're the kind of person who keeps things moving — proactively, not because someone chased you. What We Offer Competitive compensation and private medical insurance. The opportunity to build and deploy production AI agents for real businesses, with direct customer impact. A modern, AI-native engineering environment with cutting-edge tooling. Autonomy to shape how we engage with customers and define best practices. Career growth with executive visibility in a large, impact-oriented group. A collaborative, high-ownership culture. Hiring Process Initial interview: a structured conversation to understand your experience, thinking, and motivations. Paid collaborative project: instead of a contrived take-home test, you'll work on a real-scope assignment alongside other candidates over a ~2-week window, so you can fit it around your schedule. Top contributions will be awarded cash prizes. This is the core of our evaluation. We want to see how you work, not just how you talk about working. Final interview: a conversation with the CEO of Aktor AI and the Head of Solution Delivery. Our hiring process uses AI-assisted tools for application screening and includes an AI-powered interview stage. All decisions are made by people. Details Location: Hybrid in Paiania, Athens (with customer site visits as needed) Language: Fluent Greek and English required Reports to: Head of Solution Delivery
