Commercial Sales Representative- Boksburg

Introduction An established short-term insurance brokerage is looking to appoint a dynamic and socially confident Commercial Insurance Growth Specialist to focus on commercial insurance business development. This is not a desk-bound sales role . The position is designed for someone who thrives in real-world interaction, enjoys meeting new people, and is comfortable building relationships in business and social environments. The successful candidate will spend a significant amount of time in the field , meeting: Business owners Decision-makers Referral partners The brokerage services both commercial and personal lines insurance , however, the core focus of this role is growing the commercial client base through: Networking Relationship building Proactive business development Duties & Responsibilities Key Responsibilities Proactively generate new commercial insurance opportunities through networking and relationship building Identify and engage with business owners, directors, and decision-makers Build and maintain strong referral networks within the local business community Attend: Business networking events Industry functions Community gatherings Develop relationships with professionals such as: Accountants Attorneys Property professionals Other referral partners Maintain a strong presence in business and social circles Arrange and attend meetings with prospective commercial clients Introduce the brokerage's insurance solutions to potential clients Work closely with internal underwriting and support teams Build long-term client relationships for repeat business and referrals Maintain consistent field activity and brand presence in the market Candidate Profile The ideal candidate is: Outgoing Confident Socially comfortable in various environments They should: Prefer being out in the field rather than desk-bound Be naturally good with people Easily build rapport and professional relationships Typical environments include: Business networking events Local business forums Golf days or padel clubs Restaurants and social venues Community gatherings and industry events Professional association meetings This role is not suited to individuals who are: Shy Withdrawn Uncomfortable initiating conversations Desired Experience & Qualification Minimum Requirements Preferred Industry Compliance Matric RE5 NQF 4 Short-Term Insurance Qualification Class of Business – Short-Term Insurance Up-to-date CPD requirements Alternative (Strong Candidates May Be Considered) Matric Not yet reached DOFA (Date of First Appointment) Valid driver's licence Own reliable vehicle Ideal Experience Commercial insurance sales or business development Experience in a short-term insurance brokerage Strong networking and relationship-driven sales background Proven ability to build and maintain referral networks Experience engaging with business owners and decision-makers Track record of generating leads and new business through relationships Personal Attributes Naturally outgoing and confident Strong interpersonal and communication skills Comfortable initiating conversations Self-motivated and proactive Professional and well-presented Energetic and positive Resilient and results-driven Able to represent the brokerage professionally Compensation and Benefits Remuneration negotiable based on: Experience Qualifications Track record Strong commission earning potential linked to new business Fuel card for business travel Opportunity to build substantial income through client growth Location Requirements Must reside within the East Rand region Regular travel required within surrounding areas Must have: Valid driver's licence Reliable personal vehicle Interested?
