Accounts Manager

Position: Accounts Manager Setup: Onsite Schedule: Monday to Friday | 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM (Day-Shift) Key Responsibilities 1. Financial Management & Reporting Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closing processes Prepare and present financial reports to the Directors Produce Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow reports Perform variance analysis and financial performance tracking Monitor operational expenses and overall firm profitability Maintain general ledger and perform account reconciliations 2. Trust Accounting (Critical Function) Manage and reconcile legal trust accounts and client monies Accurately record trust receipts and disbursements Ensure trust account balances align with client ledgers Prepare trust reconciliation reports and audit-ready documentation Maintain strict confidentiality and regulatory compliance Ensure adherence to Australian Legal Trust Accounting requirements 3. Legal Billing & Accounts Receivable Process legal billing and invoicing for matters and services Monitor Work in Progress (WIP) and billable time recording Track debtor aging and follow up on outstanding invoices Coordinate billing adjustments with Directors and legal staff 4. Australian Payroll Process payroll for Australian employees in compliance with AU regulations Maintain employee payroll records and entitlements Calculate leave accruals, superannuation, and statutory deductions Prepare payroll reports and summaries Coordinate with Directors for payroll approvals 5. Cashflow, Budgeting & Forecasting Prepare rolling cashflow forecasts Monitor receivables and payables Assist Directors in budgeting and financial planning Identify financial risks and provide actionable recommendations 6. Compliance & Audit Maintain financial records in accordance with accounting standards and legal requirements Assist in internal and external audits Ensure proper documentation and audit trails are maintained Support regulatory and reporting compliance requirements 7. Client Operations Support Coordinate with legal and operational teams regarding financial concerns Provide financial insights to support firm decision-making Assist in monitoring operational costs 8. Team Leadership Supervise and mentor 2–3 onsite accounting staff Review and approve team output Provide coaching and training to team members Improve workflows and documentation processes Ensure all deliverables meet deadlines and client expectations Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, ( CPA) Minimum of 5 years accounting experience Experience in legal firm accounting or trust accounting (highly preferred) Experience supporting Australian clients Experience processing Australian payroll CPA is preferred but not required Strong knowledge of accounting standards Next Steps / Recruitment Alignment Ensure candidates have relevant AU accounting exposure, especially in trust accounting and payroll Include technical screening on financial reporting, reconciliation, and compliance Validate experience in legal firm setup (if available) Assess leadership capability for managing offshore staff
