Engineering Manager – MEP / Mechanical (PE Required) | Ames, IA Overview: We are seeking a Professional Engineer (PE) licensed Engineering Manager to lead our mechanical and MEP engineering team in Ames, IA. This role oversees full-cycle design , project execution, staff development, and ensures engineering accuracy across HVAC, piping, and plumbing systems . Ideal candidates have 7+ years of mechanical/MEP engineering experience and 5+ years in supervisory roles . Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage all engineering design, QA/QC, and documentation. Oversee full-cycle design projects from concept to construction support. Mentor, train, and evaluate engineering staff. Serve as primary contact for clients, vendors, and engineering consultants. Coordinate schedules with project managers and multiple concurrent projects. Develop, implement, and maintain engineering standards and procedures. Attend design, pre-construction, and post-construction meetings. Use Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks for modeling, design, and clash detection. Qualifications: BS in Mechanical, Construction, or related Engineering (ABET/EAC preferred) Active Professional Engineer (PE) license (Iowa licensure or ability to obtain quickly) 7+ years in mechanical/MEP/construction engineering 5+ years in supervisory or engineering management roles Hands-on experience with HVAC, piping, and plumbing design Proficient in Revit MEP, AutoCAD, and Navisworks Eligible to work onsite in Ames, IA Benefits: Paid Time Off & Holidays Health, Dental, Vision Insurance 401(k) with company match Critical illness, life, accident, and EAP coverage Safety boot reimbursement
