Design Engineer — New York City, NY (Onsite) Role Overview Design engineering role focused on owning both the design and implementation of product experiences end-to-end. This is a high-craft, high-ownership role where engineers define product feel, user experience, and execution without traditional product handoffs. Salary: 150000 to 250000 USD Job Description Own design and front-end implementation of core product flows end-to-end Lead full product and website rebrand rollout Define information architecture and system design across platform components Design and implement micro-interactions and user experience details in production Collaborate directly with design leadership to refine and elevate product direction Provide design feedback across active engineering workstreams Engage directly with customers to inform product decisions and feature development Operate in short, high-autonomy project cycles with full ownership of outcomes Drive both design and implementation without reliance on separate product or design teams Requirements 5+ years of design or micro-interaction engineering experience Strong portfolio demonstrating craft, taste, and curiosity (required) Ability to implement designs in production, not just create them in Figma Deep Figma proficiency with fast iteration capability Strong communication skills and ability to explain design decisions Interest in developer tooling or technical product environments Willingness to work in-person full-time Green Flags Portfolio shows strong design taste and attention to detail Background in developer tooling or design engineering environments Experience owning both design and implementation end-to-end Comfort using AI tools to accelerate design and development workflows Experience working in high-ownership, product-driven environments Red Flags No portfolio or weak portfolio Preference for handing off designs without implementation ownership Application Requirements Resume must be in PDF format Portfolio link (REQUIRED) Current location LinkedIn URL Work authorization status
