Senior Backend Engineer (Java / Cloud / Data)

We are looking for an experienced Senior Backend Engineer to design, build, and scale high-performance backend services. This role involves working on complex, large-scale distributed systems, focusing on data-driven services, cloud infrastructure, and end-to-end solution delivery. Key Responsibilities Design and implement scalable backend services and APIs Own end-to-end development of features within team services Build and maintain high-performance, distributed systems Develop and optimize data pipelines and data processing workflows Ensure system reliability, scalability, and performance in production environments Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust technical solutions Drive technical discussions, deep dives, and architectural decisions Participate in code reviews, design reviews, and knowledge sharing Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering practices and system design Required Skills & Qualifications Strong experience in backend development using Java Hands-on experience with: PostgreSQL BigTable or similar NoSQL databases Experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Strong knowledge of data engineering and data pipelines (e.g., Scio, Apache Beam, or similar) Experience building and scaling high-availability systems Strong problem-solving skills with a bias for action Excellent communication and technical writing skills Preferred Qualifications Experience in e-commerce or financial systems Familiarity with distributed systems and microservices architecture Experience with event-driven architectures and streaming systems Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices Key Competencies Strong analytical and decision-making skills Ability to work in fast-paced, high-scale environments Collaborative mindset with strong teamwork skills Ability to drive discussions and influence technical direction Ownership and accountability for deliverables Work Environment Collaborative and distributed team environment across multiple regions Opportunity to work on large-scale, high-impact systems
