Configuration Manager

The Configuration Manager is responsible for establishing and maintaining the integrity, accuracy, and control of organizational configuration items (CIs) across IT systems, infrastructure, and enterprise environments. This role ensures that configuration management processes support operational stability, change control, compliance, and service delivery excellence. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced in IT service management, configuration control, and enterprise system governance. Key Responsibilities Develop, implement, and maintain configuration management policies, procedures, and standards Establish and manage configuration baselines for IT systems, infrastructure, and applications Maintain an accurate Configuration Management Database (CMDB) Ensure proper identification, control, and tracking of configuration items across the enterprise Oversee configuration audits and verification activities to ensure data integrity Collaborate with change management, release management, and incident management teams Evaluate and approve configuration changes in alignment with governance frameworks Support IT operations by ensuring accurate configuration data for troubleshooting and impact analysis Integrate configuration management practices with IT service management processes Utilize enterprise tools such as ServiceNow or similar systems to manage CMDB and workflows Develop reporting and dashboards for configuration status, compliance, and metrics Identify process improvements to enhance configuration accuracy and operational efficiency Ensure compliance with internal policies, security standards, and regulatory requirements Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field required Experience 4 to 8 years of experience in configuration management, IT operations, systems administration, or IT service management Experience working with enterprise CMDB environments and ITIL-aligned processes preferred Skills and Competencies Strong understanding of configuration management principles and lifecycle control Experience with IT service management frameworks and enterprise governance practices Proficiency with CMDB tools and enterprise IT platforms Strong analytical, auditing, and problem-solving skills Excellent attention to detail and documentation discipline Ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities Ability to manage multiple priorities in a structured environment Compensation Annual Salary Range: $90,000 to $125,000 USD, depending on experience, certifications, and qualification Eligibility for performance-based bonuses Benefits Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) retirement plan with employer matching Paid time off including vacation, sick leave, and federal holidays Remote or hybrid work flexibility depending on organizational needs Professional development and certification support (including ITIL and CMDB training) Employee wellness and assistance programs Life and disability insurance coverage Home office or technology stipend where applicable Work Environment This role may be performed in a remote, hybrid, or office-based environment within the United States.
