Project Manager/Scrum Master – Richmond, VA (Hybrid) Complete Description: The Project Manager/ Scrum Master will operate as a Servant Leader and facilitator for 2-3 Agile teams, ensuring the effective implementation of Scrum and Kanban principles. The successful candidate will be a strong negotiator, have excellent logic and problem-solving skills, and a drive to make a difference. We need an individual who puts the team before themselves. They will be responsible for enforcing the rules of Scrum, removing impediments from their team, while promoting self-management and consistently driving a culture of continuous improvement. Liaison & Communication Serve as liaison between technical and non-technical departments. Communicate with other management, developers, product owners, and technical support specialists on product issues. Coach the team on best practices (maintaining a healthy backlog, develop high quality user stories, estimating, and delivery) Development Organize and facilitate project planning, daily stand-up meetings, reviews, retrospectives, sprint and release planning, demos, and other Scrum-related meetings. Track and communicate team velocity and sprint/release progress. Maintain process documentation. Ensure the team members are practicing the core agile principles of collaboration, prioritization, team accountability, and visibility. Application Support Assist as needed with backlog maintenance and reviewing the quality of user stories. Assist with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information. Assist with prioritization and resolution of defects/bugs. Management Participate proactively in developing and maintaining teamwork agreements, standards, and tools. Develop and manage Team performance metrics, leverage to drive efficiencies in the process. Identify and remove impediments, prevents distractions. Facilitate discussion and conflict resolution. Empower the team to self-organize. Position Requirements Formal Education & Certification Four-year college diploma or university degree in computer systems design or computer science, and/or 10 years of equivalent work experience. Must be a Certified Scrum Master, Scaled Agile (SAFe) experience and certification is a plus Knowledge & Experience Scrum Master or Business Analyst experience is preferred. Understanding of agile software development methodologies, values, and procedures. Thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle. Understanding of the organization's development platform and languages. Ability to understand technical issues. Personal Attributes Self-motivated and capable of managing multiple priorities and tasks as delegated. Team player with the ability to work within a collaborative environment. Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work with diverse personality types. Ability to coach the team to reach their highest potential.
