Certified Water and Wastewater Operator -Level 2

Siel Human Solutions, on behalf of our client is seeking 2 Full Time motivated Certified Water and Wastewater Operator – Level 2 to join their Operations team. This skilled technical role is responsible for the safe operation, maintenance, and monitoring of a town's water treatment, water distribution, wastewater treatment, and wastewater collection systems. The operator ensure compliance with provincial regulations while delivering reliable and sustainable municipal utility services to the community. Key Responsibilities: Operate, monitor, and maintain water and wastewater treatment, distribution, and collection systems. Conduct advanced sampling, testing, and chemical dosing to ensure regulatory compliance. Oversee SCADA systems, troubleshoot issues, and optimize performance. Lead or assist with infrastructure projects, system upgrades, and major repairs. Ensure compliance documentation, reports, and records are accurate and submitted on time. Respond to system alarms, utility service calls, and after-hours emergencies (on call rotation). Mentor and train junior operators and lead small project or field teams. Liaise with contractors, regulatory bodies, and consultants during inspections, audits, and projects. Qualifications & Skills: Grade 12 or GED. Valid Class 5 driver's license with clean abstract (Class 3A preferred). RCMP security clearance (criminal record check). Valid Saskatchewan Level 2 Certification in at least one category: Water Distribution, Wastewater Collection, or Water Treatment (progression requires additional certifications). 2-5 years of municipal water and wastewater operations experience. Strong knowledge of SCADA systems, water quality testing, and chemical dosing. Demonstrated leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Physical ability to perform heavy work, including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, kneeling, and working in confined spaces. WHMIS 2015, First Aid/CPR-C, Confined Space Entry (or willingness to obtain). Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and respond to emergencies as required. Progression & Training: This role provides opportunities for progression through additional Level 2 certifications in Water Distribution, Wastewater Collection, and Water Treatment. As certifications are achieved, responsibilities expand to include greater technical problem-solving, leadership, project management, and regulatory liaison duties.
