Key Responsibilities Develop and optimize welding procedures and parameters for various materials and joint configurations. Select appropriate welding processes, equipment, and consumables to meet product specifications and quality standards. Oversee and troubleshoot welding operations, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and quality control protocols. Conduct root cause analysis for welding defects and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Train and mentor welders on proper techniques, safety procedures, and quality requirements. Collaborate with design and manufacturing engineers to ensure weldability and manufacturability of product designs. Manage and maintain welding equipment, ensuring calibration and proper functioning. Stay abreast of new welding technologies, materials, and industry best practices. Recommended Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience in developing and implementing welding procedures (WPS) and qualifying them (PQR). Strong understanding of various welding processes (e.g., GMAW, GTAW, SMAW, SAW) and their applications in manufacturing. Knowledge of welding metallurgy, material science, and non-destructive testing (NDT) methods. Experience with welding automation, robotics, and advanced manufacturing technologies. Ability to troubleshoot welding-related defects and implement corrective actions. Bonus Qualifications - Experience with advanced welding processes like Friction Stir Welding or Electron Beam Welding. - Familiarity with robotics and automation in welding applications. - Certified welding inspector (CWI) or equivalent certification. - Knowledge of materials science and metallurgy related to weldability and failure analysis. - Experience with non-destructive testing (NDT) methods and interpretation of results.
