Key Responsibilities Develop, optimize, and document laser welding processes for new and existing products. Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for laser weld defects. Proficiency in weld metallurgy, material science, and characterization techniques for various materials (e.g., steels, aluminum, dissimilar metals). Demonstrated expertise with different laser types (e.g., fiber, Nd:YAG, CO2) and their integration into automated production systems. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose root causes of weld defects and implement robust corrective actions. Bonus Qualifications Experience with robotic programming (FANUC, ABB, KUKA) for automated laser welding cells. Proficiency in statistical process control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE) for process optimization. Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) for thermal stress, distortion, or weld pool modeling. Knowledge of advanced materials (e.g., superalloys, titanium, dissimilar metals) and their laser weldability.
