Key Responsibilities Perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspections of raw materials, in-process components, and finished products. Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and optical comparators. Document inspection results accurately and thoroughly in inspection reports and quality management systems. Identify and isolate non-conforming materials or products, initiating appropriate disposition procedures. Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and quality standards to ensure compliance. Collaborate with production and engineering teams to address quality issues and implement corrective actions. Maintain inspection equipment by performing routine cleaning and basic calibration checks. Recommended Qualifications Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Demonstrated ability to accurately use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and optical comparators. Strong understanding of quality control principles, inspection methodologies, and non-conformance reporting procedures. Exceptional attention to detail and observational skills for identifying product defects and deviations. Ability to accurately document inspection results, maintain detailed records, and generate quality reports. High school diploma or GED required; technical certification (e.g., ASQ CQT) or Associate's degree in a technical field preferred. Bonus Qualifications Experience operating or programming Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM). ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) or Certified Quality Technician (CQT) certification. Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) software (e.g., Minitab, JMP). Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles. Ability to interpret 3D CAD models or digital engineering drawings.
