Location: Thousand Oaks, CA (On-site) Industry: Pharmaceutical / Biotech Capital Projects Salary: $90,000 – $125,000 base Employment Type: Full-time Relocation: Not offered for this role Overview Our client is seeking a Junior Controls Manager to support schedule management across a portfolio of large-scale capital projects within the pharmaceutical and biotech space. This role is focused on project scheduling, critical path analysis, and project controls execution , working closely with project teams to ensure accurate timelines, resource planning, and overall project performance. Key Responsibilities Support schedule management across a portfolio of projects Maintain and update project schedules to ensure accurate critical path identification Ensure proper logic, sequencing, and resource loading within schedules Review schedules regularly with project teams to ensure accuracy and alignment Develop and maintain 3-week look-ahead schedules for ongoing operations Prepare schedule progress reports, trend analysis, and performance updates Track scope changes, schedule variances, and potential impacts to project timelines Analyze and process change orders for schedule impact Develop and maintain schedules in Primavera P6 Create and manage baseline and master schedules, tracking progress against baseline Build detailed critical path network schedules using standard WBS structures Review and analyze schedules from contractors, A/E firms, and stakeholders Evaluate schedule logic, float paths, and constructability considerations Support risk analysis and identify potential scheduling conflicts Participate in project meetings and scheduling coordination sessions Conduct frequent field visits during construction phases Requirements 3–5 years of experience using Primavera P6 Strong understanding of project scheduling and controls Ability to quickly learn new tools and systems Excellent communication and collaboration skills Experience supporting scheduling during the project design phase Experience with large-scale / greenfield construction projects Comfortable working on-site and conducting field visits Preferred Qualifications Experience in GMP, pharmaceutical, or biotech project environments Exposure to construction claims analysis Experience reviewing schedules across multiple stakeholders (GCs, A/E firms, etc.) What Success Looks Like Accurate and reliable project schedules Clear visibility on critical path and project risks Strong coordination across project teams Proactive identification of schedule impacts and delays Effective communication of schedule performance and updates Target Background (Nice to Have) Candidates may come from roles such as: Project Controls Engineer Scheduler / Planning Engineer Cost Controls Engineer Project Controls Analyst / Specialist Experience with leading engineering, construction, or consulting firms is highly relevant. Additional Notes This is a fully on-site role in Thousand Oaks, CA Reports to the Project Controls Manager Frequent interaction with field teams and project stakeholders
