Key Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC Swiss-type lathes, including tooling, work offsets, and program loading. Monitor machine operation to ensure optimal performance, part quality, and adherence to production schedules. Perform in-process inspection of machined parts using precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges). Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and G-code programs. Troubleshoot and resolve minor machine alarms, tool wear issues, and quality deviations. Perform routine preventative maintenance and cleaning of machinery and work area. Load raw material into the bar feeder and ensure continuous, unattended operation. Recommended Qualifications 2+ years of experience operating and setting up CNC Swiss-type lathes. Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex engineering blueprints and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T). Skilled in using precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers, optical comparators) for in-process inspection. Ability to perform tool changes, offsets, and make minor program edits (G-code/M-code). Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve common machining issues and maintain quality standards. Bonus Qualifications Ability to perform minor G-code edits or program adjustments at the machine. Experience operating CMMs or other advanced metrology equipment. Basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting skills. Strong understanding of tooling selection and optimization for precision parts. Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles (e.g., 5S, Kaizen).
