Key Responsibilities Develop, write, and optimize CNC programs for lathe machines using CAM software and G-code. Select appropriate cutting tools, holders, and workholding devices for specific part geometries and materials. Perform program simulations and dry runs to verify tool paths, identify potential collisions, and ensure part accuracy. Read and interpret engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine machining requirements. Collaborate with machinists and engineers to troubleshoot machining issues and implement program adjustments for process improvement. Optimize machining parameters (feeds, speeds, depth of cut) to improve cycle times, tool life, and surface finish. Maintain accurate documentation of CNC programs, setup sheets, and tooling lists. Recommended Qualifications Proficiency in CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Esprit) and manual G-code programming. Strong understanding of CNC lathe operations, tooling, and fixturing. Ability to interpret engineering blueprints, schematics, and apply GD&T principles. Proven experience in optimizing machining processes and troubleshooting production issues. Knowledge of material properties and their impact on machining parameters. Familiarity with precision measuring instruments and quality control procedures. Bonus Qualifications Experience with multiple CAM software platforms (e.g., Mastercam, Esprit, Fusion 360). Prior hands-on experience in CNC machine setup, operation, or troubleshooting. Ability to manually edit G-code/M-code and customize post-processors. Experience with mill-turn or multi-axis machining applications. Knowledge of advanced tooling selection and workholding strategies.
