Key Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC Swiss-type lathes to produce precision parts according to specifications. Perform in-process inspection using various metrology tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges) to ensure quality standards are met. Load raw material, unload finished parts, and manage material flow for continuous production. Read and interpret blueprints, G-code, and M-code to ensure correct machine operation and part production. Monitor machine performance, identify and troubleshoot common operational issues, and make minor adjustments. Adjust machine offsets and tooling as needed to maintain part tolerances and optimize cycle times. Perform routine preventative maintenance and cleaning on machines to ensure optimal performance. Recommended Qualifications Proven experience operating and setting up CNC Swiss-type lathes. Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering blueprints, including GD&T. Skilled in using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, optical comparators) for quality control. Ability to perform minor G-code/M-code program edits and adjust offsets. Strong troubleshooting skills for common machining issues and process optimization. Bonus Qualifications Experience with G-code programming or CAM software (e.g., PartMaker, Esprit). Proficiency in advanced metrology tools (e.g., CMM, optical comparator) and Statistical Process Control (SPC). Demonstrated ability in tooling selection and optimization for various materials. Experience with preventative maintenance and minor troubleshooting of CNC Swiss lathes.
