General Accountant

General Accountant based in Belgrade, Serbia Reporting to: Head of Finance Local Reporting Line: Country Manager About the Role We are seeking on behalf of our Client an experienced General Accountant to oversee accounting operations in Serbia and surrounding regional markets. The role is based in Belgrade and involves close collaboration with the local commercial team, while functionally reporting to the Head of Finance in France. Key Responsibilities Accounting & Financial Operations Manage all general accounting activities, including: Recording customer and supplier invoices Maintaining banking relationships Tracking and managing fixed assets Ensure accurate bookkeeping and compliance with accounting standards Oversee accounts payable and receivable reconciliation Financial Reporting & Closing Prepare and deliver timely monthly and bi-annual financial closings Produce accurate financial statements in line with deadlines Deliver monthly financial reports and margin analysis Support budgeting and forecasting processes Tax & Compliance Calculate taxes and prepare tax returns in compliance with local regulations Ensure adherence to standards and internal financial policies Maintain strong relationships with auditors and regulatory authorities Cash & Treasury Management Manage cash collection processes Execute and monitor timely bank payments Ensure proper cash flow management Stakeholder Management Collaborate with local management (Country Manager, Sales team) Act as key point of contact for auditors and administrative bodies Liaise with headquarters finance team in Paris Requirements Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Level VII qualification) Longstanding experience in general accounting Strong knowledge of IFRS standards Native Serbian speaker and g ood command of English Strong analytical and organizational skills Ability to work independently and in a cross-functional international environment Contact: Jenny Böhnlein Email: Jenny@astrantiatalent.com Phone EU: +49 (0) 176 31196980 Phone UK: +44 (0) 7341890463
